Nichiren's letters, traditionally called Gosho, literally "honorable writings", contain the doctrine of Buddhism founded by Nichiren Daishonin. Gosho contain not just basic theory or impersonal thinking systems , they provide a living and concrete support for everybody. In fact, in most cases, Gosho are replies to questions of Nichiren's followers everyone of which with his or her specific situation or particular problems. Gosho holds in itself the Daishonin's spirit and is an indispensable tool to understand his teachings.
